PoolHelp Terms of Service

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Welcome to PoolHelp. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and our Safety & Disclaimer, which are part of these terms.

1. What PoolHelp is

PoolHelp is a personal tool that helps you track your pool's water chemistry, log tests and chemical additions, set reminders, and get educational guidance and dosing suggestions. Guidance is based on widely used, established pool-care practices (the TroubleFreePool methodology).

PoolHelp is an informational and organizational tool. It is not a professional pool service, and it does not replace a licensed pool professional, a physical test kit, or the instructions on your chemical products. See the Safety & Disclaimer for important details.

2. Optional account, your data

PoolHelp does not require an account. By default, your data is stored only on your device; if you create an optional account and sign in, some of it syncs to our servers as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your device and for keeping your own backups if you want them. Uninstalling the app or resetting its data will permanently remove the data on that device, and resetting while signed in also removes your synced data.

3. Optional AI features

AI features (the assistant, photo diagnosis, and test-strip scanning) are optional. When you use one, the request content (your question or photo, plus a summary of your pool's readings and profile) is sent to PoolHelp's AI service, which forwards it to Anthropic to generate the response (see the Privacy Policy for details). When the AI service is unavailable, these features run in an on-device demo mode.

Subscriptions and billing

The AI features, and tracking more than two pools, require the optional PoolHelp AI auto-renewable subscription (offered monthly and yearly; prices are shown in the app before you buy).

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use PoolHelp only for lawful, personal pool-care purposes, and not to misuse or interfere with the app. You are responsible for the accuracy of the readings and details you enter; the app's suggestions are only as good as the information you provide.

5. Dosing suggestions, no warranty, and limitation of liability

PoolHelp provides estimates and educational suggestions "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Water chemistry depends on many factors the app cannot measure.

You are responsible for what you add to your pool. Always confirm readings with a physical test kit, follow the directions and warnings on your chemical products, and use your own judgment. Do not rely on PoolHelp as your sole source of truth for chemical dosing or safety.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, PoolHelp and its developer are not liable for any damages, injury, or loss arising from your use of the app or reliance on its suggestions, including issues with your pool, equipment, water, health, or property. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

6. Intellectual property

PoolHelp, including its design and content, is owned by its developer and provided to you for personal use. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by the app store you downloaded it from.

7. App stores

Your download is also subject to the terms of the app store you used (Apple App Store or Google Play). Those stores are not responsible for the app.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app or these terms. If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date and the in-app copy. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept them.

9. Termination

You may stop using PoolHelp at any time by uninstalling it. These terms' disclaimers and liability limits survive.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
