What is PoolHelp?
PoolHelp is an iPhone app that helps you keep your pool or spa water clean and balanced. You log a water test and PoolHelp gives you exact doses for your pool's size and chemistry. It also charts your trends and reminds you when it's time to test again. Its guidance is based on the TroubleFreePool method.
What's free, and what is PoolHelp AI?
Free, with no account needed:
- Water testing with a live health score
- Exact dosing and the full chemistry engine
- Trends, charts and target ranges
- Reminders and a chemical log
- Backup and sync with an optional free account
- Up to two pools or spas
PoolHelp AI is an optional subscription. It adds:
- A chat assistant that answers questions using your pool's own numbers
- Photo diagnosis for water that's green, cloudy, stained and so on, with a step-by-step plan
- Test-strip scanning: photograph a dipped strip and the readings fill themselves in
- Unlimited pools and spas
If your subscription ends, you keep all of your data. Every pool you created keeps working. Only the AI features, and adding pools beyond two, lock again.
Is there a free trial?
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won't be charged. Apple shows the exact trial terms on the purchase screen before you confirm. Trials are for new subscribers, and Apple decides who is eligible.
How much does PoolHelp AI cost?
PoolHelp AI is $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (US prices). At launch PoolHelp AI is available in the US and Canada; in Canada the App Store shows the price in Canadian dollars before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
I already subscribed. How do I restore my purchase?
On a new iPhone, after reinstalling, or if PoolHelp AI shows as locked:
- Open PoolHelp and go to the Home tab.
- Tap the gear icon (top right) to open Settings.
- Under PoolHelp AI, tap Subscription.
- Tap "Already subscribed? Restore purchase" at the bottom.
Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. If restoring doesn't find a subscription, the app says "No previous subscription found for this Apple Account." If you see that message and think it's wrong, email us (see below).
How do I cancel?
Apple manages subscriptions, so you cancel them in your iPhone's settings:
iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → PoolHelp AI → Cancel Subscription
Cancelling stops future charges. You keep PoolHelp AI until the end of the period you've already paid for. Your pool data doesn't change.
Deleting the app or your PoolHelp account does not cancel your subscription. Only Apple can stop the billing.
Can I get a refund?
Payments go through Apple, so Apple handles all refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
What does the AI do, and what doesn't it do?
It does:
- Answer pool-care questions using your pool's volume, recent readings, chemical history and (if the pool has a location) the weather
- Look at a photo of your water and suggest likely problems and a treatment plan
- Read a photographed test strip into a draft that you check before saving
It doesn't:
- Replace a physical test kit, the label on your chemicals, or a licensed professional. PoolHelp is a tool, not a professional service.
- Always get things right. AI and app suggestions can be wrong.
Please verify before you dose:
- Confirm your readings with a physical test kit. Don't dose based on a single app estimate.
- Read and follow the label on every chemical product. The label always wins over the app.
- Add chemicals in reasonable amounts, retest, and adjust gradually.
- Never mix chemicals together, and always add acid to water, never water to acid.
Call a licensed professional for electrical work, gas heaters, structural problems, plumbing and leaks, or anything that seems unsafe.
In an emergency (a medical emergency, chemical exposure, or any immediate danger), contact your local emergency services or poison control right away. Don't wait on the app.

Do I need an account?
No. PoolHelp works fully without one, and your data stays on your iPhone.
You can create an optional free account with email and password or Sign in with Apple to back up your data and sync it across devices. Go to Settings → Account & sync. While you're signed in, your pools, water tests, chemical log and reminders sync. Chat and diagnosis history never sync. They stay on your device.
Signing out stops syncing and keeps your data on your iPhone.
How do I delete my data?
What's where:
- On your iPhone: everything (pools, tests, chemical log, reminders, chat and diagnosis history, settings).
- On our servers: only if you created an account, and only your pools, tests, chemical log and reminders.
Delete the data on your iPhone: Settings → Data → Reset all data, then tap again to confirm. This deletes all pools, tests and logs on the device. If you're signed in, it also removes your synced data from our servers and your other signed-in devices.
Delete your account: Settings → Account & sync → Delete account → Delete forever. You'll confirm with your password, or with Apple if you used Sign in with Apple. This permanently removes your account and everything synced to it from our servers. Data on this iPhone stays until you use Reset all data or delete the app.
Uninstalling the app deletes the data on your iPhone, but it does not delete synced data. You can also email us and we'll remove your account for you.
How do I contact support?
Email support@poolhelp.app. For a bug, it helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version (Settings → About → Version), what you did, and a screenshot.
